Reliance Jio Prime membership offer will extend free service for Rs 99

Reliance Jio Prime membership offer will extend free service for Rs 99

Reliance chairman Mukesh Ambani is making some big Jio related announcements today. He will start his press broadcast at 1.30pm and a live stream is going to be available for it. So what is he going to announce? Your guess is as good as mine. But we can speculate. It is going to do something with the Jio user growth, which we hear is either very close to the 100 million mark or has already surpassed it. At the same time, there are likely to be updates related to Jio future plan after its Happy New Year offer expires on March 31. Irrespective of what is announced, you can keep checking here. We will update the Jio announcements in real time.

Update: And that is all. So basically, this conference was about clearing the air on Jio after March 31. The paid offers seem pretty good it seems, especially considering the fact that theoretically you are getting the 30GB data per month at a price of Rs 303. Of course, for that you will also have to subscribe to the Rs 99 Jio Prime membership. This membership can be obtained through the My Jio app or by visiting any Jio-supported store.

Update: Ambani announces Jio Prime offer for the existing users. "All those who have shown confidence in us and are already Jio users, can get Jio Prime membership," he says. So what is this Jio Prime?
Here are the details:
1- Rs 99 per year will get the Jio Prime membership. This is only available to existing Jio users. Also users who join Jio network will be eligible for the Prime membership.
2- Once you are a Jio Prime member, you will be able to pay Rs 303 per month and get the same free Jio services that you get now. This means unlimited data (subjected to 1GB FUP limit per day) you will get for a price of Rs 303 per month for 12 months. Looks like a quite neat deal if you like Jio network.
3- The voice calls will continue to be free.

Update: After March 31, Jio will be a paid service, says Mukesh Ambani. But Jio will offer the most affordable rates, he says. Ambani says that hundreds of new plans have been launched by other telecoms and that has created a lot of confusion. But with Jio, he says, there is no confusion. After March 31, Jio will match each and every plan that other operators are offering or will offer at the same rate but with 20 per cent more data.

Ambani promised to offer world class quantity and quality of data for Indians at competitive prices. However, the tariff plans will kick in from April 1, he said, adding there will be no hidden charges.
Jio will monitor all publically announced plans of rivals, match the most popular plans and offer 20 per cent more data than each of these plans, Ambani announced. This will in a scuttle any plan rival service providers offer to counter the already low prices of Reliance Jio.
Ambani also announced a new Jio Prime membership for users joining before March 31 this year at a one-time membership of Rs 99. These Jio Prime members will continue to enjoy the unlimeted offers of the Happy New Year plan for one more year. Jio Prime will also offer access to the media suite for free till March 31, 2018.
Calling it his way of paying back those who believed in the Jio vision, they initial customers will be able to keep their Jio Prime membership after the first year for just Rs 10 a day, or Rs 300 a month.
